|Crap. I only just got it. "Welcome to Night Vale" realization.

Cecil's mother said he would be killed by a mirror.|
Kevin is Cecil's exact mirror.
You don't think "being killed by a mirror" already happened in the episode where Cecil finds the cassette from his younger self, then ? I read that ep as very likely past-Cecil being replaced by some kind of bodysnatcher/identity thief in ways he was and remains unaware of.
(Night Vale live in Montreal June 30, tickets on sale tomorrow at noon. Squee.)
That's also quite possible, which would explain why Cecil doesn't remember any of the events from that cassette, including having a brother.
Of course, who's to say that Cecil isn't going to be killed several times by mirrors?
Hunh -- could be that young-Cecil was killed by a mirror, which is current-Cecil, who will be killed by a mirror, who is Kevin.
Which would be interesting, especially if that means that Kevin turns into Cecil.
I mean, just as a possibility.
I assumed as rysmiel
did above, but beyond that, is there any reason to assume that his mother is accurate? She could be making assumptions, have an imperfect grasp on the future, or consciously choose to lie.
While things have definitely been getting darker lately, the offing of the narrator would be a big step. I don't think the show is ready to do that anytime soon. (Eventually, perhaps. But not soon.)
Oh, I'm not suggesting that Cecil would go away, or stop being the host, or anything. Just that he might be killed by Kevin.
I mean, after all, what ARE "alive" and "dead", really? They're just states of meat, aren't they?
Must find time to listen to latest ep!
